Veneers
Many of our patients tell us they don’t smile as brightly as they used to because they are worried about the way their teeth look. If you have stained, chipped, cracked, or gapped teeth, you may have self-confidence issues. Fortunately, Franklin County Dental & Implants can fix all of those problems very easily and affordably with porcelain dental veneers.
Veneers are thin shells that go over the visible damaged portions of your tooth, unlike crowns, which cover the entire tooth. Our practice offers two veneer types you can choose from: ceramic and resin based. Both are designed to enhance the appearance of damaged, discolored or broken teeth, to improve your appearance and boost your confidence.
How Do They Work?
Dr. Laventure or Dr. Schuyler will first take an impression of the tooth using dental putty, as well as a digital x-ray of your mouth. Once the impression hardens, we will send it to our lab to create a customized porcelain veneer. Our team will give you a call once your custom veneer is ready, and schedule you to come in for your fitting. Dr. Laventure or Dr. Schuyler will gently remove a tiny bit of enamel to prepare the tooth surface for the new veneer. Once the cement and veneer are on the tooth, a special light is used to adhere them.
Porcelain veneers last many years with good dental hygiene, and our team will go over instructions for keeping your natural teeth as well as your veneers clean and healthy. Want to know more about veneers? Contact our practice for a free consultation!
